striped fabric still life

Striped fabric is not so easy to paint. I thought the stripes would help show the folds and they may if done correctly. The container on the left appears to be floating over a lump of fabric. No sure how I will solve this problem. But the only way to paint better is to paint more. May set this one aside and come back to it with fresh eyes.

All of these watercolor still life paintings are really nice. The subjects all look a little bit complex (at least for me) and I love the simplicity of your interpretation. They have an elegant feel to them.

I have not visited here before and have to tell you that I love your style - soft and gentle with beautiful colour.

I think Ann and Marancat said it better than I ever could. I didn't notice the floating object on the side until you pointed it out, I was too busy admiring your choice of color! But since you pointed it out, maybe because the color is ever-so-slightly lighter under the bowl?

Beautiful! THe progress has been great, and you've nailed the part where it's the hardest. Layering in water colors is never an easy thing to do, but yours just spells excellence everywhere! Great job!
